The 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle was included as a “complimentary” piece in the special five-coin set honoring the 10th anniversary of the American Eagle bullion coin program. Only 30,125 were produced, and only as part of a larger 5-coin American Eagle set that included 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ounce Gold Eagles and a 1 ounce Silver Eagle - all West Point and all proofs. The 1 ounce Silver Eagle is actually worth more than the 1 ounce Gold Eagle because of the scarcity of the coin's West Point minting.
The 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle is one of the most unique coins ever minted by the U.S. Mint and with such a low mintage, it remains the most coveted key coin in the U.S. Mint program, valued at well over $20,000.00 with some auctioning over 4 times that amount.
