2024 1oz Silver Britannia Coin Highlights:

  • 1 troy oz
  • .999 Pure Silver
  • Face Value: £2
  • Obverse: King Charles III
  • Reverse: Britannia

Among the most important bullion collections, the British Silver Britannia has a distinctive history. The first gold coins were introduced in 1987, while the first Silver Britannia wasn't introduced until 1997, a decade later. The Royal Mint alternated Britannia designs on the reverse from 1997 to 2010.

Three different images of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II were depicted on the obverse during that time. The third-generation bust of the Queen by Raphael Maklouf, which was only used in 1997, had the shortest lifespan. The Queen's picture by Ian Rank-Broadley was used from 1998 to 2015, and her bust by Jody Clark was used from 2016 to 2023.

Now, King Charles III is shown on the obverse of 1 oz Silver Britannia Coins issued in 2024, designed by Martin Jennings in late 2022, and it made its debut in the middle of the 2023 production cycle. The new bust of Charles III lacks a crown and is in left-profile relief.

The mint is keeping Philip Nathan's image of Britannia on the reverse of the 2024 British Silver Britannia coins. She is portrayed as a strong female figure who is facing the viewer while holding a Union Jack shield in her left hand, a trident in her right, and a Corinthian helmet on her head. The condition of these 2024 1 oz British Silver Britannia Coins is Brilliant Uncirculated.
