2023 1oz Gold American Eagle Coin Description:

The Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 permitted the production of the Gold American Eagle coin beginning in 1986. The United States government guarantees the weight and purity of each coin.

The Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 stipulates that the gold used in the Gold American Eagle production must come from the United States. The gold must be alloyed with silver and copper to create a more durable wear-resistant coin. The resulting Gold American Eagle coin is a tribute to our great country and offers investors the opportunity to buy American gold!

The Lady Liberty design on the obverse of the Gold American Eagle coin is based mainly on Augustus Saint-Gaudens's original interpretation. President Theodore Roosevelt selected Saint-Gaudens to redesign American coinage. His first effort was a beautifully designed high-relief $20 coin depicting Lady Liberty first minted in 1907.

In the current design, Lady Liberty strides forward with her right foot in front of her left, holding a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left, and her long hair brilliantly flowing to the right.

Redesigned Gold American Eagle Reverse
While we normally see designs incorporating a full eagle, new Gold Eagle features a close-up and personal perspective of our nation’s official bird. The intensity of the bald eagle’s stare and the detail in the feathering around the neck is striking.

The coin is inscribed with,"UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "50 DOLLARS," and "1 OZ. FINE GOLD."

2023 Gold American Eagle New Design Coin Highlights:

  • Each coin contains 1 oz of gold
  • The obverse features Lady Liberty based on the 1907 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double-Eagle design
  • The reverse has the intensity of the bald eagle’s stare and the detail in the feathering around the neck is striking
  • Minted in 22 karat gold, making it more resistant to scratching and marring from handling the coin
  • Backed by the United States government

Why invest in the 2023 Gold American Eagle coin?
The Gold American Eagle is the most widely traded bullion coin in America and backed by the United States government. This unparalleled liquidity and the gold coin's historical significance make the Gold American Eagle an ideal way to invest in gold. The lower denomination and smaller size of the 1 oz Gold American Eagle make it easily affordable to add gold to your financial portfolio. Best of all, by choosing to buy the Gold American Eagle, you decide to invest in American gold!
