1890-S $1 Morgan Silver Dollar - NGC MS63 Description:
Minted in 1890 from the San Francisco mint, this Morgan Silver Dollar was professionally graded in MS63 by NGC. Like other silver coins minted before 1965, the Morgan Silver Dollar was minted using 90% silver. Minted in the United States from 1878 to 1904 and once again in 1921, the Morgan Silver Dollar was the first silver dollar minted since the Seated Liberty dollar was canceled by the passage of the Coinage Act of 1873. Named after the designer of the coin, George T. Morgan was a product of the Bland-Allison act. The reverse of the coin depicts an eagle with its wings spread wide. The obverse of the coin is a left-facing Liberty. The Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the most collectible coins in United States history. These coins were considered rare until 1962 when a stockpile was found in a vault at the Philadelphia Mint. The Morgan Silver Dollar has many different dates and varieties.
