1884-O $1 Morgan Silver Dollar - NGC MS63 Description:
Minted in 1884 from the New Orleans mint, this Morgan Silver Dollar was professionally graded in MS63 by NGC. Like other silver coins minted before 1965, the Morgan Silver Dollar was minted using 90% silver. The Morgan Silver Dollar was minted in the United States from 1878 to 1904 and then again in 1921. The coin was the first silver dollar since the passage of the Coinage Act of 1873 discontinued the production of the Seated Liberty dollar. Named after the designer of the coin, George T. Morgan was a product of the Bland-Allison act. The reverse of the coin depicts an eagle with its wings spread wide. The obverse of the coin is a left-facing Liberty. The Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the most collectible coins in United States history. These coins were considered rare until 1962 when a stockpile was found in a vault at the Philadelphia Mint. The Morgan Silver Dollar has many different dates and varieties.
