Description:

Originally minted between 1921 and 1928 to commemorate peace at the end of the First World War, the Peace Silver Dollar is a must-have for any historical or silver coin collector. After originally being used as a commemorative coin, the Peace Silver Dollar was minted for the second time between 1934 and 1935 after being issued as a circulating coin. It remains the last silver dollar minted for circulation in the United States.

Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Silver Dollar features at majestic bald eagle perched on a rock, covering an olive branch in his talons, and the word 'PEACE,' on its reverse. On its obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty with a radiate crown stands proud.

The Peace Silver Dollar coin weighs in at 26.73 grams (.859 troy ounces) and is manufactured from 90% silver. Each coin contains .77344 troy ounces of silver. Date and mint marks are based on the availability of stock, but all coins will be delivered in Very Good or better (VG+) condition.

The Peace Dollar coin was issued as a commemorative coin, but eventually replaced the Morgan Dollar coin that had been in circulation since 1878. Before the Peace Dollar was officially introduced in 1921, the Morgan Dollar returned, and after six years of the Peace Dollar, it was minted again in 1934 and 1935 to meet demand. The Peace Dollar was reissued in 1965, but the coin was never released to the public.
