2024 Gold Krugerrand 6-Piece PF70 Set:
In 1967, the South African Krugerrand was introduced by the South African Mint and Randy Refinery. That first year, the mint produced 40,000 bullion coins and only 10,000 proof versions. On the obverse of these gold proof coins is the image of Paul Kruger which was last updated in 1984 by Otto Schultz and it captures the left-profile bust of the first elected President of the South African Republic. Paul Kruger led the first independent nation of South Africa from 1883 to 1900.
The reverse of Proof Gold Krugerrand Coins includes the design of the Springbok antelope. The Springbok antelope is a species common to the southern regions of the African continent and the official symbol of the modern Republic of South Africa. This design has also appeared on the Gold Krugerrand since 1967 and was also modernized in 1984, with this modernization completed by Coert Steynberg.
