The Morgan Silver Dollar was first struck from 1878-1904 and once again in 1921. The original dollars passed through American hands during the end of the nation’s westward expansion, the start of the industrial revolution, and its ultimate rise to power on the world stage. Morgan Silver Dollars are some of the most sought after coins in the world and are valued for their historic symbolism and beauty. Created through the use of modern technology and historical Mint assets, the new Morgan Dollar has a beautiful proof finish.

In December 1921, the Peace Dollar design was approved by Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon, replacing the Morgan Dollar and marking peace between the U.S. and Germany. Designed by renowned Italian American Sculptor Anthony de Francisci (1887- 1964), the Peace Dollar symbolized the country’s coming of age as an international power, while recognizing the sacrifices made by its citizens in World War I and celebrating victory and peace.
