The U.S. Mint released a limited run of 24 karat 1/2 oz Gold coins from the West Point Mint honoring the end of World War II. This special release features original and contemporary designs on both sides of the coin - the obverse inspired by the Great Seal of the United States, and the reverse designed after the 1945 World War II Victory Medal. This coin had a limited mintage of 7,500, which means that coins certified in perfect Proof 70 condition will be rare.
