Description:

Van Buren's Liberty gold coin is part of the First Spouse series that first hit the market in 2007. While the majority of our presidents have been married, Martin Van Buren was one of the few presidents who was not married. Since he did not have a spouse, Liberty is depicted on the obverse of this release.

The obverse shows a seated Liberty design that was originally used on dimes. On the reverse, Martin Van Buren is depicted reading at the base of a tree. The inscriptions verifying the weight and purity can be found on this side.

These coins have had high and low mintages. Each coins in the series is made of .9999 (24 karat) gold and weighs 1/2 troy ounce. This coin is available from our firm in a Mint State 70, graded by NGC.
