The 1993 World War II gold commemorative coin was issued to mark the 50th Anniversary of America's involvement in World War II.

The obverse of the issue was designed by Charles J. Madsen and depicts an American G.I. with his rifle with a victorious fist raised in the air. The obverse inscriptions include "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the date range "1991-1995." The reverse of the coin was designed by Edward Southworth Fisher and features "V" for "Victory." Superimposed on the "V" is a Morse Code "V." The entire image is surrounded by a laurel wreath symbolizing victory.
