Features of the 1876 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle NGC AU58:

  • Minted in the year 1876
  • US - Philadelphia Mint
  • AU58 Graded by NGC
  • NGC Population: 6
  • The 1876 $10 Eagle has the second lowest mintage (687) out of the entire 180 coin Liberty head date and mintmark series.
  • Only the 1875 has a lower original mintage (100)
  • Collectors Universe estimates 40 to 50 examples are known today
  • Since 2009, there has only been one auction appearance for an AU58 grade
  • The AU58 grade level is pretty much the best one can hope for, as Mint State examples

Eagles, grading NGC MS61 Prooflike and PCGS MS60 have appeared on their respective
    population reports
  • This coin is so rare, the Smithsonian doesn't have a specimen in their numismatic collection
