Description:

A handsome New Orleans struck double eagle with ample boldness of detail and appreciable mint luster remains on both the obverse and reverse. As with all early Liberty Head double eagle issues, the 1851-O is typically offered in circulated grades, with most examples grading XF40 through AU53.
