Description:

A handsome New Orleans struck double eagle with ample boldness of detail and appreciable mint luster remains on both the obverse and reverse. Coloration is a warm orange-gold that further enhances the already strong eye appeal this coin exhibits. As with all early Liberty Head double eagle issues, the 1851-O is typically offered in circulated grades, with most examples grading XF40 through AU53.
