Description:

The Australian Gold Nugget is a gold bullion coin struck by the Perth Mint beginning in 1986. The reverse of these coins featured different Australian gold nuggets. The design changed to a more recognized symbol of Australia, the kangaroo, starting with the 1989 proof edition. The Gold Kangaroo is legal tender in Australia and is one of the few legal tender bullion gold coins that annually changes designs.

Coin-Features

  • Each coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine gold
  • Arrives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition
  • Eligible for inclusion in a self-directed IRA
  • Each Gold Kanagroo is guaranteed by the Perth Mint

  • The Red kangaroo, eastern grey kangaroo, western grey kangaroo, and antilopine kangaroo are the four different species of kangaroos found in Australia and New Guinea. Kangaroos can jump up to three times their height and can swim. Despite their powerful back legs, kangaroos can't walk backward. A baby kangaroo is called a "joey" while a group of kangaroos is considered a "mob," "troop," or "court."The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Elizabeth II while the reverse of the coin depicts on of the four species of kangaroos.
