2023 1oz Silver Philharmonic Coin Description:

Searching for the perfect investment that holds value and is beautiful? Then look to the 2023 1oz Silver Philharmonic, the only Silver Bullion coin annually minted to be denominated in euros. Beautifully modeled in .999 fine silver, it's no surprise that this exquisite coin is increasingly popular with collectors. Legal tender in Austria, this coin has a face value of 1.50 euros. Random years of this coin are available.

Ever listened to the Vienna New Year's concert? Then this coin is for you, a tribute to the work of the Vienna Philharmonic. The obverse design on the coin features the Great Organ from the "Goldener Saal"(Golden Hall) of Vienna's concert hall, the Musikverein. The wording inscribed includes "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" (Republic of Austria) and "1 UNZE FEINSILBER" (1-ounce pure silver), plus the year and face value of 1,50 euro.

The reverse design features a range of musical instruments from the orchestra including the cello, violin, harp, Vienna horn, and bassoon, plus the words "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER" (Vienna Philharmonic) and "SILBER" (Silver). Designed by Thomas Pesendorfer - chief engraver of the Austrian Mint, the design was initially used on the gold commemorative coin issued from 1989.

Minted from 2008 until the present, the 2023 oz Silver Philharmonic coin is not only beautiful, but it is also guaranteed by the Austrian Mint - giving you peace of mind - making it a sterling investment not to be missed. The history of minting in Austria dates back to 1194 when Richard the Lionheart paid a ransom of 15 tonnes of silver to Duke Leopold V of Austria. Leopold made the decision to strike coins from the silver and hence the tradition of minting in Austria was born. The Austrian Mint was first mentioned in historical documents about 200 years later, originally based at the Hoher Markt, it moved to several times before settling at its current home in Heumarkt during the 19th century. Since 1989 it has been part of the National Bank of Austria and a public limited company.

The Austrian Mint has produced the Austrian schilling, the Austrian euro coins, including the Silver Philarmonic, plus gold bullion and commemorative coins. It also supplies coins to a number of other countries across the world.
