Description:

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is minted by the Royal Canadian Mint. Introduced in 1979, as an alternative to the only gold bullion coin made at the time, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf has become one of the most popular ways to invest in gold coins.

1 oz Gold Maple Leaf Features:

  • Each coin contains 1 troy ounce of .999 or .9999 fine gold depending on dates available
  • Eligible for inclusion in a self-directed IRA
  • Legal Canadian tender and guaranteed by the Canadian government
  • Coins arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition

The obverse, or front of the coin, features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, while Canada's signature Maple Leaf is depicted on the back, or reverse, of the coin. Each Maple Leaf is legal Canadian tender guaranteed by the Government of Canada for its weight and purity.

In 2013 and 2015 new security features were introduced to ensure the authenticity of each coin. In 2013 a micro-engraved textured maple leaf done with laser technology was added to a small area of the reverse side of the coin. In the center of this mark is the coin's year of issue, which is only visible under magnification. In 2015, the radial lines on the coin's background were added.

Each coin is made with 1 troy ounce of gold and has a face value of $50. Specific dates are not guaranteed, and fulfillment based on availability.
