Description:

History:
The Bullion Coin Act of 1985, authorized the U.S. government to start of the Gold American Eagle. The coins immediately became a favorite among investors and collectors when it was first released the following year. The Gold American Eagle Proof coins have been available in four sizes since 1988 - 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz.

The design for the obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens version of Lady Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her right.

The reverse was designed by Miley Busiek which features a male bald eagle with his wing spread wide returning to his nest where a female eagle and an eaglet sit. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are along the top curve of the coin. IN GOD WE TRUST is to the right of the female eagle in the nest.

Each 2020 Gold American Eagle Proof 70 coin will come in perfect Proof 70 condition graded by NGC. Proof 70 is the highest grade a proof coin can get. This grading means the coins have no post-production imperfections at 5x magnification.

This 2020 Gold Eagle PF70 Set is also part of the Ed Moy Signature Series. Ed Moy, the former U.S. Mint Director, has hand-signed every label. Demand for these hand-signed coins is expected to outpace supply.
